The Tiffany & Co. unexpected unveiling of its ground-breaking collaboration by x Nike last week attracted a lot of attention. Sneakerheads and fans alike have been in a frenzy online following the unveiling, which saw the brands take out a full-page print ad in The New York Times to feature the co-branded Nike shoe box in the Tiffany blue, featuring both logos and the phrase, “A Legendary Pair.” Many have shared mixed reviews.
Sneaker-heads have “largely dismissed the $400 Nike Air Force 1 Low Tiffany,” according to an opinion piece in Business of Fashion. All-black nubuck leather 1837 shoes with a Tiffany blue swoosh and a silver plate on the back are available. The publication also claims that the “partnership failed on multiple levels,” asserting that “there was no authentic synergy between the two brands, no discernible rationale for the collaboration other than two corporate juggernauts wanting to generate marketing buzz. While that may be the case, the fact that it dominated the news for the previous week indicates a marketing success.
Fans can now get a better look at the pair up close and personal as they get ready for the release of the collaboration, which was first spotted on LeBron James. The coveted shoe is made with a base of black leather and suede, emphasizing the Swoosh in the traditional Tiffany style. The insoles are dyed a teal color. On the tongue and heel of the shoe are intricate silver co-branding plates, and the sole is a black Nike Air Force 1 rubber. Additionally, the shoe will be delivered in unique co-branded packaging.
Watch for the Tiffany release. The $400 USD x Nike Air Force 1 Low sneaker will be available on March 7.
